ReplyDeleteHi Lindi, my favourite way of getting warm, is to put on my Eyore Flannel PJ'S, bed socks, a thick warm dressing gown that my work mates bought for my birthday, hop into bed with a good book and of course put on the reverse cycle heating, with a hot mug of Hot Chocolate. Way to go!!Warmest Regards Lyn http://bluebirdquilts-lyn.blogspot.com

Hi Lindi, aren't we a bunch of couch potatoes? I'd love to say I keep warm by going for long rambles in the bracing wintry afternoon, but this would definitely not be true. I, too, love climbing into bed after turning my electric blanket to its highest setting, and luxuriating in the warmth, just about toasting myself!
ReplyDeleteHi Lindi,
ReplyDeleteFunny that at your end of the world it is winter and over here (being in The Netherlands) it is over 31 degrees Celcius at the moment, even too hot to do some crafting!!
But when it is cold (so cold that you can skate on rivers etc.) I love to get warm by drinking hot chocolate and eating some chocolate
while being wrapped up in a quilt.
Hugs from Holland,
Ineke
my favorite way to get warm on a cold night is to snuggle up under a quilt or afghan with a nice cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Now this is my favorite way unless my hubby happens to be around...:)
ReplyDeleteHi Lindi,

My favourite way of getting warm is snuggling up to DH. He is my version of the good old hot water bottle.
ReplyDeleteI like to lean up against the wood stove. That's one of the things I miss most when I'm away from home - I've been at university for the past several winters, and only home for a few weeks at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm at school, I like to wrap myself in a blanket and drink hot chocolate while I read a book.

ReplyDeletecheers Julz
A glass of red, a good book - and we don't have a roaring fire - so generally I have to settle for Oliver (cat) on my lap and Murphy (dog) snuggled up beside me.

I am strange - I LOVE winter, so I wish I were where you are right now! Summer makes me wilt! To get warm, hot chocolate (the real stuff made with milk)right by the fire, we have a wood burning fireplace! Yeah!
ReplyDeleteI love a mug of "boozy Coffee". My brother will make coffee with a little Frangelico in a mug, and I'll whip up grand marnier whipped cream. Then we'll join our parents in the living room, on Christmas eve, and bask in the glory of the tree!
ReplyDeleteI live in Arizona where it never gets cold, but that doesn't mean that my feet don't get cold sometimes. To warm them up I put them under the upper thigh/bum of the person sitting next to me. Works like a charm! But beware taking that open seat!
ReplyDeleteHi Lindi,We have a lovely fireplace here so that keeps us warm, and i have thermal underwear that works a treat.
ReplyDeletegot around to it at last. Well i must confess to bedtime with the electric blanket being on 3 fot over 1 hour and the winter quilt, PLUS an extra quilt, PLUS my favourite cuddle quilt. woops and I have been known to forget to turn the blanket down. I have 2 favourite ways!
ReplyDelete1) curl up next to hubby in bed ... the man has the most incredible heat emanating properties!
2) get a good roasty fire happening in the brazier and toast marshmallows and down with champers.
: )
Snuggling under a quilt before our fireplace would be my way to get warm. No need to do that right now here in Germany, though ;-)

To warm me on the inside, a bit of Louisiana Hot sauce will do! On the outside, it takes 6 cats, a quilt and a hubby for now, but I suspect hotflashes will take over before long! lol
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way of keeping warm is snuggling with my sweetie and watching a great movie!
