The white curly bits are part of the web. The spider spins extra thick silk as a cross. These spiders are commonly called St Andrews Cross Spiders, and are members of the orb weaver family. We get lots of them in our yard, along with other larger orb weavers.
Glad you like the banner. I have been playing with it and have a replacement for it ready for next week. Along the lines of what I have been doing in the sewing room!
I live in the beautiful Hunter Valley in Australia with my DH. Daughter L is married to M and had a baby boy in 2010. Son G is married to D, and they had a baby girl in 2011.
Apart from adoring and playing with my 2 Grandchildren, I quilt, paint, and craft whenever I can take time away from working in our business (which is probably more often than I really should!)
Thanks for stopping by, and please, leave a comment or say hi!
Very interesting, but can you explain the white curly bits please.
ReplyDeleteoh I do like your personalised banner.
