Pattern Giveaway

Giveaways, don't you just love them? Lynda at Patchwork Promises is giving away 3 copies of her latest quilt pattern. I want to win this one, but I'm generous enough to share the fun. After all, there are 3 to be given away. If you get there in time, you might also be able to enter her giveaway for one of her bag patterns. I have already made the bag and it's a great number! Very versatile and the instructions are easy to follow. I actually wrote about my bag recently, so scroll down my blog and check out what I did.

Excitement! Parcel arrival!

Look what I received in the mail today. :)))

A little while ago, the lovely Megan from Whatever had a giveaway on her blog for this oh, so lovely bag. And I was the lucky winner! Oh my.

Isn't that inside fabulous? It even has a compartment (all stiffened and padded) for a tablet (or ipod or whatever). How cool is that? And lots of little pockets for all the things we carry, plus a large zip pocket behind them.

Of course, an awesome bag like this needs shoes to match..... so a shopping we went......

...and yes, I did buy a pair....lol. In reality, they are so close in colour, you would think they had been made in the same place. :)

Next on the list was some fabric for a new skirt to go with the accessories....hey, isn't that the way you are supposed to do it, not the other way round? ;)

I found this lovely organic fabric in Kate's online shop  (Kate Quilts - she has some truly yummy fabrics - go check them out!) . Perfect!

Alegria - Bouquet .... works soooo well with the bag and shoes ... and  the yellow is the same yellow!

Won't it look divine once it's made up?

Thank you so much, Megan, for giving me the chance to win this bag! From it has grown a lovely new Spring outfit to brighten my outings. :)

Progress on quilt....and a WINNER!

I expected this quilt top to take quite a while, but a couple of sleepless nights and a body that co-operated with me spending hours at the sewing machine has resulted in progress!
I have yet to add borders....I had to order fabric online and it probably won't get here until the end of the week....a chocolate narrow inner border, and a blue border from one of the prints in the range (Cherish Nature by Deb Strain for Moda).

I am calling it RENEWAL as that is the word I have chosen for 2012. Eggs and Butterflies = change and metamorphisis, bees for the network of supportive family and friends, the layout to represent 2 steps forward, one step backward still equals forward momentum....

"RENEWAL"

.....And now for the winner of my little giveaway...........

I have tried to capture the picture of the Random Number Generator to show you, but there doesn't seem to be any where to upload it and move it onto here, on my laptop, so you will have to take my word for it.....

The winner is comment number 5:  Joy  V, who said: "A great idea - last year I chose 'relax' - I felt I had to learn not to worry too much about all the little things, so 'relax' it was - I think I achieved part of it anyway. This year - I need to 'focus' - you can guess that I often wander off onto other things instead of what I'm doing. So Focus is my word for this year."

Joy, email your snail mail addy to me, and your goodies will be finding their way to you. :)

Thanks for playing, everyone. And welcome to the new followers. :)

Cheers,
Lindi

New Year Giveaway

Happy New Year, Everyone! Wishing you all a wonderful, inspiring, creative, happy, healthy 2012. :)

My friend Sally, has a great idea. She gives each year a word.... read her recent post here.
I love  the idea, so last night and this morning, I gave serious consideration to what word I would choose for 2012.
I wanted something that would reflect the challenges I will face this year with my health and treatment of CSS, but also something that would reflect the opportunities for personal growth, accomplishing doing things that I currently can't do because of CSS, and the chance to lay the groundwork to make big changes in my attitudes and lifestyle for the future.

Not easy to find that one word. :)
forward evolution accomplishment advance triumph remodel progression reformation transformation metamorphisis  .....these all could be applied. I just don't know which to use. Maybe there is a better word I haven't thought of.....any suggestions? I'll ponder on this for a little while, I think.....

So, this is where the giveaway comes in.
1. Leave a comment telling me what YOU hope for in this year.....either in one word or in a few...
2. If you are a follower, leave another comment telling me so, and you get an extra entry.

That's it!

And the prize, you ask? Well, I am not in a position to make anything yet, so I have raided my stash and gift box, and come up with this.......and I might even add some more....

I had to be quick, because Miss M decided to investigate....
she approved, by the way. :)

Cheers,
Lindi

What's on Your....?

This week - Desktop!

I panicked when I read this! My desk is such a mess! But Susan has posted a picture of her computer desktop.
Phew! Relief! I change my desktop every 3 to 7 days. This is it, currently.

I couldn't get a photo without the flash reflection, so I did a Ctrl/Printscrn, paste in Paint and saved as a jpeg. Cheating, I know, but it did the job. :)

Don't forget to let us know in the comments, if you are playing, so we can check out your post! :)

What's on your...? Wednesday

Susan has started a blog game/challenge with her "What's on your...?" posts on Wednesdays. So I have decided to follow her lead. If you want to play, feel free to join us. Just leave a comment on Susan's post so we know.

This week's challenge is ...Fridge!

Lucky for me, I tidied it up 2 weeks ago, ready for guests. :)

Mine isn't nearly as interesting as Susan's. The little magnet in top left corner says "No coffee, no workee" and the framed card near it says "Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstance (Bruce Barton)".

Then I have some teddy bear magnets and some black cat magnets. The 2 little silver frames between the cats are waiting for baby photos. LOL

On the bottom door, I have 2 very large sheet magnets (out of one of those door to door catalogues that usually contain a heap of useless things) that has pockets. This is where I put pics of things I would one day like to buy or do. The second one has just been cleaned out and I have yet to find things to put in it.

So what's on your fridge? Show us! Go on, I double dare you!!

8 January 2010

and the winner is.....

Well done, everyone! I had a smile at all of them, but I narrowed it down to 2 finalists, based on the laugh factor.

And the winner is:

Linda who said:

This is a hoot, Lindi!
snoli - This is what happens when you lose your footing in the snow and land on your bum. "Wow, was that a snoli!"
Another gessess - This is how many times I'm going to try to win your giveaway! "I'm making lots of gessess!"

The Runner up is Sooziii, who said:

Ah the words they give us .... Obontly

The duke and duchess were rowed obontly downstream toward their summer residence.....
One should always be obont when one is a member of the aristoracy.

Congrats, Ladies! Just email your snail mail addy to me, and I'll send you something for your originality. :)

210

No, I haven't forgotten the 0 in the number. :)
210 was the number of my last post, and the first post for this year! How's that for co-incidence?
So I decided to run another Giveaway. The first for 2010.

Some of you were around when I ran a comp involving your given word verification. Remember? You can check it out here. I got some great responses and it was a lot of fun.

This time, though, I'm going to do it a little differently. Marlene did a post recently, giving meanings to some of the word verifications she had been given.

So that is what you have to do! Leave a comment with the word verification you have been given, and give it a meaning. :) The funnier, the better! You can enter more than once if you wish.

I will draw the winner next Friday. The prize? It will be a surprise!

Hugs,
Y

2 Year Blogaversary!

April 5th is my 2 year blogaversary! (Do you think I've made it obvious enough?)
And what do I do when I have a blogaversary?

Yep, you got it... I have a giveaway!!!

Last year, you had to leave a comment to go in the draw for some free fat quarters.
This year, it's different. I'm not telling you how to enter. lol

There are rules.

There always is!

But only I know what they are.

(vbg)

I will tell you that I'm not announcing the winners until later in the week.

Not sure what you'll win, yet. Might be a FQ, might be something I make, might be anything, really....

But it will be nice.
